May 7, 2011 around 12:20 pm a call of a motor vehicle was dispatched after reports of 2 vehicles in the north bound lane of Crain Highway. LaPlata Volunteer Fire Department Company 1 responded with rescue engine 13 and Charles County Volunteer Rescue Squad company 51 responded with ambulance 517. They arrived on scene on Port Tobacco Road Route 6 just prior to the intersection of Crain Highway Route 301 with 2 vehicles that were involved in a collision. One of the drivers was transported from the scene to Civista Medical Center.
