MECHANICSVILLE, Md., — A 19-year-old motorcyclist was airlifted from the scene of a single-vehicle crash late Sunday morning after suffering injuries in Mechanicsville.
The crash occurred around 11:03 a.m. on March 30, near 29242 All Faith Church Road, close to the intersection of New Market Turner Road and Pilkerton Lane. Emergency crews from St. Mary’s County Fire & EMS were dispatched, including ALS (Advanced Life Support) units and fire personnel from multiple stations.
According to initial reports, the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved, and the operator sustained a laceration to the arm. Responders confirmed the rider was awake and talking at the scene.
Due to the nature of the injury and the rural location, a Maryland State Police helicopter (Trooper 7) was requested and transported the rider to UM Capital Region Medical Center in Largo for trauma care.
Police remained on scene for traffic management and incident investigation.
