The Maryland State Police (MSP) Forestville Barrack reported two people were killed Thursday evening, May 2 when the motorcycles they were riding collided with a van on northbound Route 301 at Short Cut Road in Brandywine.ย  The accident occurred shortly after 11 p.m.

According to a press release from the MSP, investigators reported a Chrysler Van โ€œwas at the intersection of southbound Route 301 and Short Cut Road. The van failed to yield to oncoming traffic from northbound Route 301.โ€ Police reported two motorcycles, one bearing Virginia tags the other Maryland tags, โ€œstruck the side of the van at the intersection.โ€

Both motorcyclistsโ€”identified as Caleb Decentrey Williams and Herby Harold Bolick Jr.โ€”were pronounced dead at the scene. The van driverโ€”identified as Brian Michael Kautenโ€”was injured and transported to an area hospital by ambulance.

No charges have been filed at this time. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper N. Murray.
