LEONARDTOWN, Md. – St. Mary’s County Government’s Department of Recreation & Parks (R&P) is announcing the temporary closure of Myrtle Point Park, located at 24050 Patuxent Boulevard in California, Maryland.  

Myrtle Point Park is closed today, April 2, 2026, due to an active law enforcement investigation following an incident that occurred overnight.

The park will remain closed to the public until the site is released by law enforcement and cleared for reopening. We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation.
