Charles County Sheriffs officers arrested Michael Deon Carter, 34 of no fixed address, in connection with a carjacking that occurred on March 24 in the 3000 block of October Place in Waldorf.
At 11:50 p.m., Carter approached a male, 22, who was sitting in his car and asked for a ride. When the victim refused, Carter displayed a handgun, threatened the victim and demanded a ride. As the suspect was about to enter the car, the victim drove off and fled. Officers canvassed the area and located Carter a short distance away. He was armed with a semi-automatic handgun.
Carter was charged with carjacking, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and carrying a handgun. He was remanded to the Charles County Detention Center with no bond. Officer S. Miller made the arrest.
