One Dead In Leonardtown Crash, Road Closures Expected

UPDATE – 3/20/2025 – 66-Year-Old Victim Identified In Leonardtown Fatal Collision; State Police Investigating

LEONARDTOWN, Md. — A motor vehicle crash in Leonardtown left one person dead Wednesday afternoon, prompting an extended road closure.

Emergency crews responded to the intersection of Point Lookout Road and St. Andrews Church Road at 4:21 p.m. on March 19, 2025, for reports of a person ejected from a vehicle and possibly not breathing.

Upon arrival, first responders found a vehicle on its side and immediately began CPR on the victim. Despite life-saving efforts, one person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities warned drivers to avoid the area as investigators worked, and road closures were expected for an extended period.
