NEWBURG, Md. — Emergency crews responded to a serious single-vehicle rollover crash Wednesday afternoon on the Harry W. Nice Memorial Bridge.

The crash occurred around 3:18 p.m. on March 4, 2026. First responders arrived to find a vehicle overturned on its roof along the bridge span. The occupants had exited the vehicle prior to emergency personnel arriving on scene.

The male driver reported back pain but declined transport. A 39-year-old female passenger was transported with non-life-threatening injuries to UM Charles Regional Medical Center.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Motorists should expect delays as crews work to clear the wreckage and reopen lanes. Live traffic camera views are available at www.thebaynet.com/traffic-cams/.

The rollover occurred just hours after a separate serious crash earlier in the day shut down the Thomas Johnson Bridge in Solomons following a head-on collision involving an ambulance.
