OWINGS, Md. – A woman was flown to a trauma center during the early hours of Wednesday, Dec. 5 after suffering injuries from a house fire in Owings. 

At approximately 1:15 a.m., crews responded to the 9100 block of Easy Street, Owings for the report of a house fire. Units led by the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department (NBVFD) arrived on the scene of a two-story single family home with heavy fire showing. According to the NBVFD, “Firefighters were able to quickly bring the large fire under control and extensive overhaul was completed.”. The loss of structure is estimated to be $280,000.

The homeowner became overwhelmed by smoke but was able to escape the fire with non-life threatening injuries, says of the Office of the State Fire Marshal. The occupant was then transported to Baltimore Shock Trauma for smoke inhalation injuries. She is currently being assisted by family.
