
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – Are you a Calvert County resident in need of local resources? The Calvert County Homeless Services Board and the Nonprofit Institute at College of Southern Maryland (CSM) are hosting the annual Community Resource Fair! The free event is a one-day, one-stop opportunity for resource assistance welcome to all ages and income-levels. There are over 40 government and nonprofit organizations signed up to offer a wide range of services for housing and utilities, jobs, transportation, food, health services, personal care and more.ย ย
The Community Resource Fair will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the College of Southern Maryland located at 115 J.W. Williams Road Prince Frederick, MD 20678. Donโt miss out on a hot meal provided by Brooks United Methodist Church, Mt. Olive Church, and Solomons Mission. There will also be support services, demonstrations, health screenings and giveaways. The event is sponsored by the Calvert County Homeless Service Board, the Nonprofit Institute at CSM, the Southern Maryland Local Homeless Coalition and Department of Community Resources. LifeStyles of Maryland is providing free shuttle services throughout the county. Services such as employment, financial assistance, housing, transportation and others are listed so citizens can easily pinpoint the resources they need.ย

Remember, if you’re homeless, you can go ahead and register to vote, you just have to be able to give the Election Board something to go on for district purposes. If you want to receive election mail, you have to give them an address to use, so ask a nearby church if you can receive mail there. The homeless can vote! The homeless should vote!
