PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — The Calvert County Health Department is pleased to invite community members to attend an upcoming Open House event designed to promote public health awareness, showcase services, and strengthen connections with local residents. The theme this year is, “Ready. Set. Action!”, which aims to help residents improve their health through small, daily lifestyle changes.
The Open House will take place on April 9th from 3-6pm at the Health Department’s main office, located at 975 Solomons Island Rd N, Prince Frederick, MD 20678. This free event is open to the public.
Attendees will have the chance to:
- Participate in interactive demonstrations, games and activities
- Tour the Mobile Crisis Team Van, and the Destination Wellness Van
- Meet public health professionals and staff
- Learn about available health services and programs
- Receive health screenings and informational materials
- Ask questions about community health concerns
“This Open House is a great opportunity for us to connect directly with the community we serve,” said Dr. Teneza-Mora, the Health Department Health Officer. “We invite anyone who lives, works or plays in Calvert County to learn about all of our services, programs, classes and demonstrations we offer the public. We are committed to supporting the health and well-being of all Calvert County residents, and we encourage everyone to come out, learn, and engage with us.”
The vision of this event is to educate the public about the diverse services the Health Department offers – whether residents need free or low-cost screenings, help navigating the medical system, or access to informational resources that could improve health outcomes. Select services will be offered at no-cost during the event. This year, the Health Department invited fellow community partners to join and set-up displays, so other governmental resources will also be available for the public to engage with.
