Lexington Park, MD – State and local authorities are investigating an explosion which damaged a parked vehicle. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, the incident occurred early Friday morning, July 24 on Gooseneck Road in Lexington Park. Investigators stated the incident was initially reported shortly before 3 a.m.
“Sheriff’s deputies heard an explosion while on routine [patrol],” stated Dfm. Don Brenneman. “In an effort to locate the source, they discovered [a] vehicle with post-blast damage to the front hood and windshield area.”
The damaged vehicle is described as a 2008 Nissan Altima. No injuries were reported.
The estimated damage to the vehicle is $2,500.
