This week, the Charles County Sheriffโ€™s Office released details for three burglaries that occurred at county restaurants last weekend.ย  No word yet on whether the crimes are related.ย 

The most gruesome was an armed robbery at Lone Star Restaurant at midnight on Sunday, Nov. 18.ย  Charles County Sheriffโ€™s officers responded to the restaurant on Mall Circle in Waldorf for the report of an armed robbery.

CCSO reported that three men entered the restaurant after closing and confronted two employees who were preparing the bank deposit. ย The intruders bound both employees with duct tape and tortured them with a stun gun until one employee finally told the burglars the combination to the safe.ย ย 

According to CCSO, the suspects opened the safe, stole an undisclosed amount of cash and fled out the back door. ย The victimized employees sustained minor injuries and were treated on the scene by Emergency Medical Services personnel. ย Officers, including a K9 team, searched the area but the suspects were not located.

All three suspects were described as males wearing masks, gloves and dark clothing. ย They may have fled in a black and orange SUV. ย Officer R. Cadrette is investigating.

Later that morning at about 2:30 a.m., officers responded to a burglar alarm at Hong Kong Buffet.ย  The restaurant is located on Plaza Way in Waldorf, only about two blocks from The Lone Star.

CCSO reported that one or more suspects shattered the glass to the back door and entered the restaurant.ย  The intruder(s) stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and an HP laptop computer, then fled the scene through the same rear door. ย The manager of Hong Kong Buffet also responded to the alarm.

Officers, including a K9 team, searched the area but did not locate any suspects. ย Officer C. Gass is investigating.

The day before, sometime between 2 and 9 a.m., one or more individuals pried open the front door to Mattawoman Restaurant on Hawthorne Road in Indian Head.ย 

The burglar(s) and stole a variety of bottles of liquor and an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. ย Nothing else seemed to have been damaged apart from the front door, nothing else was missing. ย Officer C. Stufft is investigating.
