The Southern Maryland Sabres Hockey Club hosted a 12-team Mite jamboree on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012 at the Capital Clubhouse in Waldorf. Six visiting clubs including the NOVA Ice Dogs, Prince William Panthers, Tri-City Eagles, Reston Raiders, Chevy Chase, and Easton Ice Hawks came motivated to compete and have fun. 180 kids had a blast playing hockey games in a cross-ice format, where three simultaneous games take place at the same time running the width of the ice. The Sabres invite you to watch our second Mite Jamboree we’re hosting later this season on January 27th from 9:30am to 12:45pm.
The Southern Maryland Sabres Hockey Club participates in the Chesapeake Bay Hockey League (CBHL) and the Capital Corridor Hockey League (CCHL). The Sabres’ home arena is the Capital Clubhouse in Waldorf, MD and draws players from Charles, St. Mary’s, Calvert, Prince George’s, King George counties and beyond. The Sabres offer a range of ice programs including learn to play hockey, recreational teams, travel teams and skills sessions.
