ByThe Dec. 20 meeting of the Calvert County Commissioners wasn’t all politics. The perennial visit of Santa Claus gave the commissioners and other government officials a chance to lobby the jolly old elf to get their Christmas wishes fulfilled. While the commissioners really need cash to fund the fiscal year 2013 operating budget, the best Santa could do was offer candy canes.
Santa’s visit to the commissioners has been a frequent, although not consistent event usually occurring during the board’s last meeting of the year.
Calvert’s commissioners, with new board president Gerald W. “Jerry” Clark [R] presiding, will next meet Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012.
