Lexington Park, MD— On June 9, the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to Flower Drive in Lexington Park for a reported burglary that had taken place during daytime hours.
The defendant was identified as Travis G. Boylston, 26 of Lexington Park. Boylston used unknown burglary tools to pry open and damage the rear door of the victim’s residence.
Boylston caused less than $500 damage, however once inside the residence Boylston stole/removed an estimated amount of $5,640 worth of material items.
The victim was able to provide investigators with serial numbers for the stolen items. Utilizing the provided information a RAPID pawn database check was conducted, which revealed on June 19, Boylston sold several items to Pawn It Pawn Brokers.
According to charging documents, “Boylston conducted a transaction with employees at Pawn-It Pawn Brokers and sold the following items–Playstation 4 system, Toshiba television and Samsung Blu-ray player.”
The items’ serial numbers were compared and matched those provided by the victim. Employees at Pawn It Pawn Brokers identified Boylston as the suspect in this offense and stated he was the person who conducted the transaction involving the victim’s stolen property.
Boylston has recently been arrested and is awaiting trial on several theft and burglary charges, which are pending in ย St. Mary’s, Charles and Prince George’s counties.
Boylston has been charged with two counts of first-degree burglary, two counts of theft $1,000 to $10,000, theft less than $1,000 and malicious property destruction less than $500.
Boylston has a tentative preliminary hearing scheduled for July 21 in District Court. Boylston faces a maximum jail sentence of 60 years and four months and/or a maximum fine of $21,000.
