For the third straight year, the Southern Maryland Wedding Guide is going to make one lucky couple’s wedding dreams a reality. The magazine is currently planning its third annual “Southern Maryland Dream Wedding Giveaway.”

 The contest, which coincides with SoMdWeddings.com’s five year anniversary, will provide one lucky couple with a Dream Wedding package that will include the following: a wedding gown & tuxedo rental from Bridal Secrets, wedding invitations and consulting services from Waldorf Engraving & Printing, a wedding reception for up to 150 people at Middleton Hall, photography services by Sandi Foraci Photography, videography services by Dave’s Videography Services, DJ services by Just Jeff the DJ, limousine services by Legacy Limousine, ceremony music by St. Charles String Quartet, a wedding cake by Occasional cakes, decorations by Something Special, to name a few.

  “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate our fifth year online than by making someone’s dreams come true,” said Kimberly Bean, founder and CEO of The Southern Maryland Wedding Guide. “We’re working with some of Southern Maryland’s top wedding service providers to make this day special,” Bean said. “We’ll all work together to make the day one that the winners will never forget.”

 The contest, announced on the wedding guide’s website at SoMdWeddings.com, is going to be different from the past two year’s contests. The magazine and participating vendors are asking contestants to send in a ten minute DVD describing their love story, and why they think they should win the contest. The magazine and vendors contributing prizes toward the contest will review all entries and will select five finalists to be announced at the magazine’s annual bridal show, A Bridal Affair, on Feb. 24, 2008 at Middleton Hall in Waldorf.

 “We really wanted Southern Maryland residents to be involved in selecting our winner this time,” says Bean. She said that videos submitted by the five finalists will be shown on the magazine’s website for a week after the bridal show to allow the public to select who they think our winners should be. “The public does a great job at helping us to select our Cover Picture Contest Winners for each of our magazines. We thought it would be fun for them to be able to help us select the winner for our Dream Wedding too.”

 Entry forms and rules are posted on SoMdWeddings.com. Deadline for submitting a DVD entry is Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008. The wedding date has been set for Friday, Aug. 29, 2008 and a wedding reception at Middleton Hall in Waldorf.

 The Southern Maryland Wedding Guide magazine will attend and report on the wedding and reception for the Winter/Spring 2009 edition of the magazine.
