2009 is a year that portends a higher level of entertainment options for Southern Maryland. The main thrust behind this effort is Kool Productions LLP, based in Waldorf. The promotion and production company is set to host a series of concerts this summer at a number of venues in the area.

The first such production will be the concert coming on June 6 at Regency Furniture Stadium featuring T-Pain and Flo Rida; both of whom have made some meteoric moves on the music charts and on I-Tunes as some of the highest selling songs, albums and more in recent months.

The production company has concerts planned for not only Regency Furniture Stadium, but at the new National Harbor as well. In addition to the two adaptable structures, Kool Productions is working with the Hughesville merchants to revitalize the tobacco barns and turn them into a concert and studio venue. Even though, ultimately the Hughesville venue will need extensive renovation a concert is planned before the end of 2009.

Kool Productions has worked hard over the past three years to establish its credentials in the Nashville music scene. โIt has taken us some time, but with our credentials in Nashville, we are able to bring more mainstream headline acts,โ said Ray Mertz head of Kool Productions and one of its main partners.

To be sure, Kool Productions is not an organization prone to let moss grow. It is working hard to open up more concert venues and to bring even more talent to the area. They are also bring a world class production company to the area, having merged with a major DC based production company to be better able to provide sound and video services in addition to promoting and producing live concerts and events.

According to the Blue Crabs spokes person, Chris Allen, โOur association with Kool Productions is great. We are not concert promoters and the relationship we have just signed allows the stadium to host some world-class events that are done professionally and we can stick to what we do best, baseball.โ

Kool Productions has concerts lined up through this year and beyond, The ambitious organization has four concerts planned for Regency Furniture Stadium, at least four at National Harbor and one at a minimum in Hughesville.
