David Joseph Hockaday is currently incarcerated at the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. On the morning of Nov. 23 , Hockaday left the detention center as part of the Work Release Program. Hockaday failed to return to the detention center later that afternoon as required by Court Order. He was located in California, returned to the detention center and charged with Escape 2nd Degree by Senior DFC Mark A. Smith.
