St. Mary’s County Public Schools is pleased to open the application period for the 2013 Space Camp, Fine Arts Camps, and Tech Kids Camps.
The seventh annual Summer Space Camp provides STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) classes in a fun learning environment. The program is available for students in grades 2-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-11. The program, held at Great Mills High School, is over four days, Monday through Thursday. There will be two sessions, July 15-18 and July 22-25. Registration for the 2013 Space Camp programs will continue until all spaces are filled. Wait lists will be formed after sessions are filled.
Summer Fine Arts Camps are for students completing grades 3 – 8. The goal of this program is to provide opportunities for students to participate in enrichment activities in one of the following course areas: band, chorus, orchestra, theatre, and visual arts. Elementary Fine Arts Camp will be June 24 – 27, 2013 and the Middle and High School Fine Arts Camp will be July 8 – 11, 2013 at Leonardtown High School.
The second annual Tech Kids Summer Youth Enrichment Program for students ages 8 – 14 will be held at the Dr. James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center. This program provides fun, enriching, hands on opportunities for students. Program options are: CSI St. Mary’s; Crafts, Canvases, and DIY Fun!; Lights, Camera, Action; Human Body Fun Facts; Future Generation Firefighters of America; Fun with Culinary Arts; Kids Carpentry Camp; Tech Kids Tool Time; Comp-U-T8; and the National Flight Academy. Spaces are limited and wait lists will be formed after sessions are filled.
