White Plains, MD – State authorities are investigating an early-morning fire in Charles County that damaged a 2008 Dodge Charger. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, the blaze was reported Thursday, Aug. 28 at 3:30 a.m.

A report submitted by Dfm. John Nelson state the fire was located on Hanson Road in White Plains and was discovered by the vehicle’ occupant. The investigation has determined the fire started inside the vehicle.

Four firefighters from Waldorf were dispatched the one-alarm blaze and had the flames under control in three minutes. No injuries were reported and the total loss is estimated at $8,000.

Nelson’s report identifies the vehicle’s owner as Sharon Trest.
