Brandon K. Brownย

Dunkirk, MD— On March 13, Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Cpl. Naeckerย was in the parking lot of the Dunkirk Park and Ride when the Calvert Control Center broadcast a lookout for a possible intoxicatedย driver traveling southbound on Route 4 coming into Calvert County.ย

Deputy First Class Locke of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office and Naeckerย conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on Route.4. The driver was identified as Brandon Brown, 24, of Huntingtown. According to charging documents, “as Locke was speaking to Brown, I (Naecker) looked in the back right passenger area of the vehicle. I (Naecker) observed two aluminum foil smoking devices, as well as two hypodermic needles sitting on the floorboard.”

Locke got Brown out of the vehicle and detained him. I (Naecker) opened the back right passenger door and confirmed what I could see through the window. “Locke asked Brown what he was using, which Brown stated heroin,” according to charging documents.

“Brown also confirmedย that the small white rock substance I (Naecker) found on the back right passenger floorboard was suspect[ed] heroin.” According to charging documents, “Brown stated he had purchased Heroin and shot up about an hour before the traffic stop in Annapolis, MD.”

Brown was charged with CDS possession not marijuana (heroin), two counts of paraphernalia possession (hypodermic needles and smoking devices) and for failure to obey a traffic control device. He was transported to the Detention Center where he was processed.

Brown has a scheduled court date for June 27 at the Calvert County District Court.ย
