At 10:43 a.m. Dec. 11, DFC Eric Basham responded to a home on Claggett Road in Sunderland to investigate a burglary that had just occurred.
The victim advised that she heard a noise in her kitchen and observed the suspect at her open window.
She then realized money was missing from her purse.
DFC Basham located the suspect, identified as Frederick L. Claggett, 45, of Sunderland a short distance from the victim’s home and arrested him for first-degree burglary and theft.
