CALIFORNIA, Md. — Two people were transported to the hospital Monday afternoon, Oct. 13, 2025, following a two-vehicle crash near Old Rolling Road and Worth Avenue in California.

The collision occurred around 2 p.m. and involved a white Dodge van and a dark SUV. Emergency personnel from Bay District Volunteer Fire Department, Leonardtown Volunteer Rescue Squad, and the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office.

EMS evaluated a grandmother and her grandchild before transporting them to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment. Their injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

Deputies temporarily blocked portions of the roadway while emergency crews cleared the scene.

The sheriff’s office is investigating the cause of the crash.
