Port Republic, MD โ€” Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to burglary quickly finding a teen suspect who admitted to the crime.

The sheriff’s deputyย was dispatched to Broomeโ€™s Island Road for the report of a burglary July 2.

The person reporting the alleged burglary said in the police report that they left their locked home, at 7 p.m. on July 1 and returned at 8:30 p.m. on July 2, to find items in disarray and multiple items missing such as Nintendo games, electronics, liquor, food, prescription medications and a kitten.

The deputy was able to quickly develop a suspect.

The report reads Kyle Hooper, 18, of Port Republica, admitted to having made entry through a rear doggie door of the home.

Police reports say he was arrested and charged with Third Degree Burglary, Theft $1,000 to under $10,000, Theft Less than $1,000, Theft Less Than $100, False Statement to an Officer and Obstructing and Hindering.
