
Robert Allan Krell
White Plains, MD— On Feb.8, the ย Charles County Sheriff’s Office receivedย the complaint of an armed robbery occurring at CSV located at Altamont Place in White Plains.ย
Officers responded to the CVS and made contact with the victims. All of the victims in this case, were working behind the counter in the pharmacy section of the store. Detective Riffle placed a male in custody and identified him as Robert Allan Krell, 33, of LaPlata.ย
According to charging documents, “the defendantย asked one of the victims for a bottle of Oxycontin, which is a controlled pharmaceutical. The victim told the defendant the business did not carry the requested drug. He (Krell) turned and left the counter. A few minutes later the defendant again approached the counter. He (Krell) had a blackย handgun in his hand. The defendant pointed the handgun at one of the victims and demanded two bottles of Xanax.”
“The victim, in fear for her life, retrieved two bottles of 100 count 2 mg Alprazolam tablets. Alprazolam is a generic form of Xanax,” according to charging documents.ย
Detective Riffle left the business to canvas the area for evidence. He (Riffle) observed a beige minivan in the rear parking lot. He (Riffle) then observed a white male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and tan pants exit the wood line and get into the van. The male exiting the wood line matched the descriptionย of the person that robbed the CVS,” according to charging documents.ย
Krell was charged with armed robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and use of a handgun during a violent crime in the Altamont case.
Krell has a tentativeย preliminary hearing scheduled for March 9 at the Charles County Districtย Court. Krell faces a maximum jail sentence of 280 years and six months and/or a maximum fine of $10,500.
