Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Wanted Man

On Nov. 15,  at 11:05 a.m., Tyrone Michael Hawkins, 41 of St Leonard, was arrested by TFC E. M. Evans for Violation of Protective Order. 

TFC Evans was on patrol on Pegg Road at Watt Drive in Lexington Park when he observed a white Mercury exceeding the posted speed limit.  A traffic stop was initiated at Liberty Street and Pacific Avenue in Lexington Park.  Contact was made with the occupants of the vehicle.  A routine NCIC check revealed there was an active Protective Order involving the driver and the passenger, Mr. Hawkins. 

Hawkins was in violation of the Protective Order and placed under arrest.  There were also two outstanding warrants open for Hawkins one through Charles County Sheriff’s Office and the other through St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office. 

Hawkins was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
