UPDATE – 12/5/2024 – Fatal Crash In La Plata: Waldorf Man Killed, Investigation Ongoing
LA PLATA, Md. – Emergency crews responded to a fatal motor vehicle crash on Rosewick Road near Rosewick Corner Place on Wednesday afternoon, leaving one person dead and another person injured.
The incident occurred on December 4, 2024, around 4:07 p.m. Responders arriving at the scene found the two-vehicle collision with one occupant trapped inside the wreckage. Rescue teams worked swiftly to extricate the individual, but tragically, the person was pronounced deceased at the scene. EMS evaluated a 42-year-old male on the scene and transported him to UM Charles Regional Medical Center for treatment
Police and emergency personnel are urging drivers to avoid the area as crews continue their investigation and clear debris from the roadway. Officials have not released the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No further details were immediately available.
