Tree Company Worker Rescued After Bucket Truck Overturns In Port Republic

PORT REPUBLIC, Md. — Emergency crews successfully rescued a tree company worker trapped under an overturned bucket truck early Tuesday morning in Port Republic, Maryland.

The incident occurred on August 27, 2024 around 8:12 a.m. on Shamrock Court near Shamrock Lane, where responders found the man pinned beneath the machine at the edge of a hill on Battle Creek.

Firefighters worked quickly to extricate the man from the hillside. Due to the severity of his injuries, EMS requested a medical evacuation helicopter.

A landing zone was established on nearby Crane Road, from where the patient was airlifted to an area trauma center for treatment.
