At 1:12 a.m. April 9, Tpr. G. White of the Leonardtown Trooper barrack stopped a vehicle for failing to yield the right of way on Route 5 at Charlotte Hall School Road in Charlotte Hall.

The driver identified himself as Glenn Elliott Thompson, 49, of Loveville. During conversation with Thompson, an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected. After Thompson performed unsatisfactory on the field sobriety tests, he was arrested for DUI.

A check through MVA indicated Thompsonโ€™s driving privilege was suspended and revoked.

A search incident to arrest revealed a metal smoking device, containing cocaine residue, in his pants pocket.

Thompson was charged with Possession of CDS Paraphernalia and numerous traffic violations. He was taken to the St. Maryโ€™s County Detention Center and held pending a bail review.
