Trusted Traveler Suspended at NAS Patuxent River

PATUXENT RIVER, Md. – Effective Feb. 1, 2024, Naval Air Station Patuxent River has suspended the Trusted Traveler Program until further notice. This change mandates all personnel, residents, and visitors to present identification at the base gates before entry.

The Trusted Traveler Program permits uniformed service members and their dependents (over the age of 16), Department of Defense (DoD) employees, and retired uniformed service members and their spouses to vouch for vehicle occupants, as long as they hold valid DoD identification cards.

The immediate suspension of this program signals a shift in base security protocols.
