Make Gorgeous Gifts

Do you like making things with your hands? Creating gifts for your friends and family? Weโ€™ll be creating cool crafts from re-purposed items at Tween Craft Night on Nov. 27, 2012 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Calvert Library Prince Frederick.

Learn how to make gorgeous cuff bracelets by re-purposing book spines.

Use your favorite colors to design and craft โ€œGodโ€™s Eyes.โ€ The Huichol Indians of Mexico and the Aymara Indians of Bolivia weave brightly colored yarn on a simple frame of crossed sticks to make a design called โ€œOjo de Diosโ€ or โ€œEye of Godโ€. Originally, โ€œGodโ€™s Eyesโ€ were made to be placed on an altar so that the gods could watch over the praying people and protect them.

Are you crazy about sharksโ€™ teeth and trying to figure out what to DO with all those teeth youโ€™ve collected? Weโ€™ll teach you how to wire-wrap a sharkโ€™s tooth necklace.

Design your own beaded bracelets using our wide assortment of beads.

We supply the materials for all of the crafts, and will have some yummy refreshments for you, too. Youโ€™re welcome to bring your own beads, old books, sharkโ€™s teeth, or yarn if you wish.
