WALDORF, Md. – Emergency crews responded this morning to a two‑vehicle, head‑on collision in the turn lane at Crain Highway and Mattawoman Beantown Road after multiple alerts reported the crash.

Dispatchers received the first call at 8:35 a.m. on March 8, with the caller reporting two vehicles involved and one person possibly trapped. An automated crash alert from an Apple Watch corroborated the location moments later.

Fire and rescue units arrived to find no entrapment and two patients. They confirmed both occupants were accessible without extrication and remained on scene to assist EMS.

At approximately 9:02 a.m., one patient was transported to Charles Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. The second patient was evaluated on scene.

Traffic in the area was briefly affected as units operated along the southbound approach into the county. All units cleared without further incident.

Authorities continue to review the circumstances of the crash.
