On Monday, September 22 at approximately 4:26 pm, there was a report of a brush fire at Bowie Shop Road and Lowery Rd in Huntingtown.
As units arrived on the scene they found a truck pulling a large load of hay on the trailer and the hay was on fire. Units from Huntingtown put about 5,000 gallon of water on the hay, but there was still sign of smoke deep inside. Bowie Shop Rd was closed during this operation.
It was decided to let the driver continue to his home location which was not that far away and complete extinguish of the hay by removing them from trailer and opening up the rolls of hay.
Additional tanker and engine from Prince Frederick was request to help with this operation.
By around 6:26 pm it was assumed that all fire had been extinguished.
