MECHANICSVILLE, Md. – On August 13, 2024, at approximately 10:27 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a serious single motor vehicle accident in the area of  Maddox Road and Bushwood City Road in Chaptico. 

Crews arrived to find the vehicle off the roadway, overturned in a ditch after striking a utility pole. The injured driver was out of the vehicle upon arrival. EMS evaluated the patient at the scene and requested a MEDEVAC due to injuries.

Firefighters established a landing zone nearby for Maryland State Police, Trooper 2. The patient was then airlifted to an area trauma center for treatment.

Police continue to investigate the incident.

  1. I can’t understand why there are so many single vehicle accidents. People PAY ATTENTION TO THE ROAD. I don’t know the cause of this one, but a medical emergency would be a good reason. Though I don’t think there are that many medical emergencies happening.

      It would seem People don’t think their insurance rates are high enough…so they drive Stoopid, crash, sometimes even hurting themselves… increasing their rates. Unfortunately it effects all drivers.
