Annapolis, MD —  Volunteers are needed to help kids get ready for back-to-school.

The Community Backpack Fest celebrates back-to-school by offering fun family activities and each child also receives a backpack stocked with school supplies

Kids can learn about fire safety, setting goals and meeting goals, healthy eating, the environment, how to get a library card, and the basics of walking and biking to school safely.

There will also be fun activities like climbing on a real fire truck, a moon bounce, face painting, and food.

The event will be held Saturday, August 24 from 10 a.m. to noon at Eastport United Methodist Church in Annapolis.  Volunteers need to arrive at 8:30am to help set up.
