UPDATE – 1/10/2025 – Suspected Hit-And-Run: 21-Year-Old Woman Killed On Smallwood Drive West In Waldorf

WALDORF, Md. – Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that occurred early Friday morning in Waldorf, leaving a pedestrian dead.

Just after 7:00 a.m. on January 10, 2025, police and emergency personnel were called to Smallwood Drive West at St. Patricks Drive following reports of a woman lying in the roadway.

A patrol officer from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office arrived, and they found the victim unresponsive, with CPR already underway. Emergency medical personnel pronounced the woman deceased at the scene.

Officials confirmed that the vehicle involved did not remain on the scene, making this a hit-and-run incident. No identifying information about the vehicle or the victim has been released as of Friday morning. Authorities are checking camera footage in the area attempting to identify the striking vehicle.

Police have launched an investigation and are urging anyone with information about the incident or the vehicle involved to come forward.

  1. My deepest condolences to her family. This is really heartbreaking 💔 why would someone hit a person knowing you did and leave them laying there suffering. I pray whatever cameras are in the area and eye witnesses catch this person 🙏 so tragically senseless
