On a memorable night at Regency Furniture Stadium, Brian Baker threw seven scoreless innings and Jim Ed Warden set the all-time saves record in the Atlantic League as the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs defeated the Camden Riversharks by the final score of 1-0. The Blue Crabs win snaps a streak of four consecutive losing series.

Warden entered the 9th inning with 122 career saves in the Atlantic League, tied with former

Bridgeport Bluefish reliever Mike Guilfoyle. The Blue Crabs closer pitched a 1-2-3 top of the 9th with three straight groundouts for save number six of the season and 123 of his Southern

Maryland career.

Baker (1-3) turned in his best start of the year yielding just one hit through seven scoreless innings for his first win of the year. The Blue Crabs righty now has four straight quality starts and has allowed just three earned runs in his last 25.1 innings.

Jake Hale (2-3) did not allow an earned run in the game but was saddled with the loss. He threw an eight-inning complete game scattering just three hits and the unearned run while striking out five batters.

After exchanging scoreless half innings through the first four, the Blue Crabs finally broke through in the bottom of the 5th. Tony Delmonico reached on an error with one out and moved over to third base on a single by Angel Sanchez. Delmonico then came into score on a sacrifice fly by Juan Medina for the gameโ€™s first run.

The Blue Crabs continue their homestand Friday night as the York Revolution come to town

at 7:05 ET. Southern Maryland will send lefty Ryan Hinson (0-3, 4.56 ERA) to the mound against
