On May 26 at 4:47 p.m., officers responded to the La Plata Public Library for the report of an assault.
Investigation revealed the suspect, Ronnie Jerome Hawkins, 47 of La Plata, approached a female inside the library and groped her. He fled but was located a short distance away.
A warrant was issued and Hawkins was later arrested and charged with fourth-degree sexual assault.
