Woman Killed, Several Injured, Including Children, After Vehicle Crashes Into Birthday Party

BLADENSBURG, Md. — A birthday celebration in Prince George’s County turned tragic Saturday night when a vehicle plowed into a crowd gathered outside a Bladensburg home, killing one woman and injuring more than a dozen others, including several children.

The crash occurred around 10:14 p.m. on October 18, 2025, in the 4100 block of 56th Avenue. Investigators said a vehicle traveling from the area of Annapolis Road left the roadway and struck guests attending a child’s birthday party in front of a residence.

One of the victims, identified as 31-year-old Ashley Hernandez Gutierrez of Washington, D.C., succumbed to her injuries.

The driver, a 66-year-old man from Washington, D.C., has been identified and turned himself in to police. He was interviewed by crash investigators, and the Bladensburg Police Department said it is consulting with the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office regarding criminal charges.

According to police, the victims included eight children ranging from 1 to 17 years old and six adults, including the deceased. Six of the child victims have been treated and released, while one remains hospitalized in stable condition. Three adults are hospitalized in stable condition, one adult is awaiting treatment, and another has been released.

The Bladensburg Police Department is leading the investigation with assistance from the Prince George’s County Police Department. A portion of Annapolis Road between 57th Avenue and Landover Road was temporarily closed while investigators processed the scene.
