LORTON, Va. – Feb.21, Around 5:10 p.m. the Fairfax County Fire Department reported that there was a fire in the garage of a house in the 8100 block of Arcade Street.
When crews arrived, they discovered fire in the garage and heavy smoke throughout the house. Crews tried to aggressively attack the fire through the house but were pushed back. After putting out the blaze, they did a search and discovered the body of a young boy inside the home. He said they also discovered the bodies of two pets. Four adults, three men and one woman, were transported from the scene with non-life-threatening injuries. Two other pets were rescued.
Homicide and Crime Scene detectives responded to the scene and are actively working the investigation in conjunction with the Fairfax County Fire Marshal’s Office.
