Annmarie Garden in Solomons welcomed visitors to Sunday FUNday August 8. In partnership with the United Way, the Garden offered free admission and special activities, like making prints with Jell-o. The United Way offered books to youngsters as part of their Success by Six program and attendees found plenty going on throughout the Garden.
The Chalk-a-thon, going on through August 15, lets artists of all ages express themselves in sidewalk chalk along the wooded walkway. Sunday, attendees were also invited to Paint the Path, where native and endangered species of Md. were colorfully brought to life.
Little crafters contributed to artist-in-residence Oreen Cohenโs public art project โYou make the bed you sleep inโ, hunted for fairy houses and enjoyed the GREEN exhibit on display in the Arts Center.
Missed the fun on Sunday, but looking for a fun family outing before the kids head back to school? Plan a visit to Annmarie Garden Sculpture Park and Arts Center, where families can enjoy hands-on art projects and outdoor adventures daily.
The Gardenโs annual Artsfest is fast approaching, so mark your calendar for Sept. 18 and 19.
