PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — Calvert County’s Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has signed off on the Department of Technology Services’ request to renew its six-year contract with Pictometry, doing business as Eagleview, totaling $302,400.
Part of Technology Services’ (TS) role in the county is to manage the implementation, support and administration of Geographic Information Systems applications for government. As a part of this responsibility, TS conducts an aerial flyover every two years in late February or early March to collect mapping data.
TS Director Stephen Pereira and staff recommended at the Jan. 28 BOCC meeting that the county renew the contract with Eagleview so the company can conduct its first flyover in February or March 2026. The total cost of the new agreement is $302,400. An amount of $50,400 will be paid annually over the six-year term of the agreement. Funding for this agreement is allocated in the TS Contracted Services account.
By entering into a multiyear contract, Calvert County government secures consistent pricing throughout the duration of the contract, ensuring both financial stability and operational efficiency.
The new agreement will provide 1-inch and 3-inch imagery and will provide key mapping data for the county. The contract will take effect immediately.
TS manages software and other technologies in the county and regularly works to renew contracts to ensure continuity of services for employees and for residents. Last year, the department renewed the county’s Microsoft contract and its emergency notification system.

Precision is what you meant. But no, it’s not. But I agree with you that Google should suffice for their needs.
