flyer for the animal supply drive

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — The Chesapeake Clovers 4-H Club is holding a supply drive for the Calvert Animal Welfare League from now until April 9.

The Clovers are asking the public to donate laundry detergent, bleach, dog and cat food, hand soap, rubber gloves and paper towels. Donations can be dropped off in the lobby of the Community Resources Building at 30 Duke St., Suite 102.

Drop-off hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There is a box in the lobby where you can drop your donation.

4-H is the largest youth organization in the county, which helps kids create hands-on projects in their communities to teach new skills and help them feel confident in pursuing their goals. The Clover program partners with local colleges and universities to bring more opportunities to 4-H participants.

Calvert County offers several opportunities for kids of all ages to join 4-H; in addition to the Clovers, Calvert County’s kids can join the Northern High School gardening club, the Crazy Crafters, the Heritage 4-H club and more.

The Calvert Animal Welfare League is one of several shelters in the county offering sanctuary and adoption services to homeless animals. Calvert Animal Welfare League is located at 1040 Prince Frederick Blvd., Prince Frederick. The rescue works with its thrift store to raise money and hosts a full calendar of events throughout the year. Adoption hours are Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
