Get Ready, Waldorf — Adrenaline Raceway Is Almost Here

WALDORF, Md. — After years of planning and hands-on help from friends, family, and a determined husband-and-wife duo, Waldorf’s newest entertainment venue is almost ready to drop the flag.

Adrenaline Raceway, an indoor electric go-kart track owned and custom built by local couple Thurman and DeMonica, is preparing to open its doors soon at 3480 Catterton Place in Waldorf, bringing fast-paced fun, party spaces, and big community energy to Charles County.

More than just a race track, Adrenaline Raceway is a family-run business with heart — and a vision. Their son Carson built the website as the in-house web designer, their daughter Alexx manages the front office and customer experience, and their son Marquise serves as the track manager, overseeing safety and operations. Friends also pitched in throughout the build-out, helping paint, assemble and prepare the space. It’s been all hands on deck since Thurman and DeMonica secured the location in October, unlocking 17,000 square feet to design a wide, professionally built indoor track with fun and safety in mind.

“This has been a long journey,” said Thurman, who began working on the project in 2018. DeMonica helped guide it through the final phases, ensuring the vision became reality.

The custom-built track is designed for drivers ages 8 and up, with separate junior and adult karts rotating in timed sessions. Safety was a top priority throughout the build — from reinforced track barriers to staff training — and every driver must meet height and safety requirements before hitting the track.

Inside, a dedicated party room will feature a mini track, giving kids a place to race toy cars while waiting for their turn. Online reservations will be required at launch to help manage demand, with walk-in opportunities added later depending on availability.

But the real excitement goes beyond racing.

Thurman and DeMonica plan to expand Adrenaline Raceway into something bigger: a community hub for fun, learning and connection. Future plans include driver safety programming using drunk-driving goggles to educate teens about the risks of impaired driving in a safe, supervised way. They’re also exploring outdoor track options, a remote-control (R/C) racing club, and organized racing leagues for regulars of all ages.

“Our goal has always been to give something back to the community,” Thurman said. “We wanted a place where families can have fun, kids can be safe, and people feel welcome every time they come in.”

Final inspections are underway, and the official opening date will be announced once approvals are complete. Until then, fans can follow Adrenaline Raceway on social media for updates and behind-the-scenes looks as the team gets ready.

“Our model here is operating with excellence,” Thurman said — a standard the family has followed through every detail, from staffing to safety, as they prepare to welcome the community.

Whether you’re planning a birthday party, a team-building event, or just looking for something new to do with friends, Adrenaline Raceway is shaping up to be more than just a place to race. With flexible options for families, school groups, and corporate gatherings, the space was designed to give the community choices, create lasting memories, and deliver high-speed fun for all ages.
