Leonardtown, Maryland (Sept. 21, 2016) – St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation’s 29th annual Gala to benefit MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital will be held Friday, Nov. 18, at the Hollywood Social Hall. This year’s event, “Viva, A Night in Old Havana” offers guests a chance to spend an exciting evening submersed in the rhythms and old-world charm of this magical city.

Proceeds from the Gala benefit numerous programs at MedStar St. Mary’s, a not-for-profit hospital serving the community for more than 100 years. In 2016, foundation donations funded five scholarships, as well as other hospital projects. Scholarships were awarded to students planning to pursue degrees in health care. In 2015, the Foundation donated $150,000 for a new GE Monitoring System, which significantly improves patient monitoring and allows quicker, easier uploading of pertinent information to a patient’s electronic medical record. Twice each year, the Foundation also supports the hospitals’ annual Daisy Awards program, which recognizes nurses who provide outstanding care to our patients.

The Foundation is seeking support from local and national companies and organizations. Multiple sponsorship levels for businesses are available. Levels range from $850 to $15,000, allowing business owners to select a sponsorship appropriate for their company or organization.  All sponsors will be acknowledged in the event’s programs and will receive appropriate recognition throughout the evening.

Information about the various levels of Gala sponsorships and sponsor packets are available by calling 301-475-6455. Visit MedStarStMarys.org/Viva for more information.
