Truck or Treat in Lusby

Lusby, MD – Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church has always been interested in serving families with young children. This is the reason one of the highest priorities was the construction a playground  just off the parking lot at the church in Lusby.

Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church is the only WELS (Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod) church in the Tri-County area. Established in the early 2000’s, the congregation has been in their new church home for five years after meeting in temporary locations.

Another indication of Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church’s commitment to families is the annual Trunk or Treat held right before Halloween on the church parking lot. Church members roll onto the parking lot, pop open their vehicle trunks and decorate them in all kinds of creative ways. Somewhere within the decorated trunks are the candies that can be had with those magic words – Trick or Treat.

This year on Friday, Oct. 28 more than 200 kids with their families in tow cruised the parking lot dressed for the Halloween occasion and they hauled away containers loaded with candy and other treats.

Pastor Josh Olsen (shown above left) was on hand with his family to greet the Trunk or Treaters and their families.

The church holds service every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at 9463 H.G. Trueman Road in Lusby. For more information go to: www.shepherdofthebay.com/
