LA PLATA, Md. — Earlier this week La Plata Police Department cadet, Kalah Sauers, was sworn in as a United States Army Reservist. Sauers will soon be shipping off to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, for her basic training and advanced individual training as a military police officer.
Sauers calls her service to the community and our country as a “calling.”
Ultimately, Sauers wants to become a police officer. Sauers told members of the agency, “I really do enjoy helping others and doing the best I can to be a role model for the younger ones before me.” It is clear Kalah has a servant’s heart.
Kalah’s motto comes from the movie Rocky, “Now, if you know what you’re worth than go out and get what you’re worth.”
Sauers also noted, “I am willing to take the hits.”
LPPD is extremely proud of Kalah and her desire to serve her fellow citizens. Thank you for your willingness to serve our nation. We’ll see you 19-weeks, Kalah!!!
