Linda L. Kelley Animal Shelter Waives Adoption Fees For Dogs through May

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – The Linda L. Kelley Animal Shelter is waiving adoption fees for dogs through Tuesday, May 31.

Dogs of all ages and personalities are available for adoption. Regular adoption procedures still apply.

“Today is National Rescue Dog Day, and it’s a great time for citizens to observe the day by visiting our shelter to find the perfect companion,” said Public Safety Director Jackie Vaughan. “With an overabundance of dogs at the shelter, we really need our community’s support to find these animals happy new homes. If you have the means to, please consider adopting or fostering one of our animals, and give them the chance to become the perfect fit for your family.”

The Linda L. Kelley Animal Shelter is an open admission animal shelter managed by the Animal Shelter Division of the Calvert County Department of Public Safety.

Shelter hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. To schedule an intake appointment call 410-535-7387.

The shelter is located at 5055 Hallowing Point Road in Prince Frederick.

  1. The Linda L. Kelley Animal Shelter, and all other, “shelters”, should put down, destroy, all pit bull or pit bull mixed type breeds when they are accepted into the shelter as a matter of policy, and never allow them to ever be adopted. Especially since they know nothing of their backgrounds, and of their known propensity to snap for unknown and observable reasons, kill and maim humans. This has to start happening to end this vicious, unpredictable, dangerous, and unnecessary breed.

    1. thats messed up. i have TWO pitbulls. they’re super sweet with me, my boyfirend & our kids. They’re great with other dogs & other people as well.

  2. Pits are awesome dogs. They r sweet. Even after being Abused and
In pain and starving they can still wag their tail. U need to watch Pitbulls and Paroles. It’s coming in animal planet or goggle it. U should never own a dog.

    1. If that’s the case take a look at another breed, humans, should that rule apply to them too ?
Its not the breed it’s the person that trains them that way !
