At 12:06 a.m. April 16, TFC J. Edelen of the LaPlata trooper barrack stopped a vehicle traveling southbound on U.S. Rt. 301 in the area of Acton Lane because the driver was not being restrained by his seat belt.
The driver, Loren Waszine Jones, 24, of Temple Hills, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol
A search incident to arrest revealed suspected PCP, drug paraphernalia, and a loaded handgun.
Jones was subsequently charged with possession of PCP, possession of a concealed deadly weapon, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was incarcerated in the Charles County Detention Center pending a bond review.
