CHARLOTTE HALL, Md. – At approximately 4:30 a.m. on March 17, 2024, emergency personnel were dispatched to a serious single-vehicle crash on southbound Three Notch Road near Traveled Lane.
Upon arrival, crews found a Jeep that had veered off the road, struck a fire hydrant, and overturned. One occupant was trapped inside and injured. Firefighters had to remove the doors of the vehicle to extricate the patient, who was then evaluated by EMS personnel on the scene.
Due to the severity of the injuries, a request for a MEDEVAC was made. Firefighters established a landing zone nearby for Maryland State Police, Trooper 7. The patient was then airlifted to UM Capital Region Trauma Center for treatment.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
